Dr. Zaida Rahaman is an Associate Professor within the Department of Nursing, and Associate Director of the Canada-Caribbean Institute at Brock University. Dr. Rahaman has a diverse clinical and theoretical background, including paediatrics, children’s mental health and community liaison, family nursing, administrative and academic leadership, public policy development, and community-based research. Her area of research program includes population and public health; holistic health and wellness; and Indigenous health and decolonizing ‘trauma’ work. She also incorporates storytelling and land-based methodologies within her Scholarship of teaching and learning practices, in helping to foster an inclusive classroom environment for future healthcare professionals.
